Latest Short-Range American Model Snowfall Output Map

Click here or on the map below to view the latest short-range American model snowfall output map.

Please keep in mind that this storm is still a bit out of range of the short-range American model, meaning that it really does not do that well this far out in its range, so the heavy snow band is likely to move slightly northwest from here and be centered over Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey.

The trajectory is correct, but the European model shows this band being a bit northwest of there, as I just mentioned.  Anyway, it gives you a good idea of what the European model is showing.

The European model has the heavy snow band up the spine of the Appalachians in Virginia, across Maryland (just to the Northwest of Washington D.C. and Baltimore), through Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey, Southeastern New York State, New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts (just to the west of Boston), Southern New Hampshire, and Coastal Maine.

Accumulations in this heavy snow band will be 12-18 inches with localized accumulations of 18-24 inches. As I said, move this band northwest of the location depicted here by the short-range American model that is still just outside its best range.
