We will have snow today, heavy at times, ending around 3-4
pm with total accumulations of 5-10 inches from north to south across Northern
New Jersey with the lowest amounts across Northern Sussex County and the
highest amounts near Rt. 78. Tomorrow we
will start out with sunny skies, and then clouds will increase in the afternoon
as another storm approaches our area. This
storm will bring more snow, starting around 11 pm on Tuesday night and ending
around 4 pm on Wednesday afternoon. The
snow could mix with sleet or freezing rain which would hold accumulations down
if does, otherwise snow accumulations should be 5-10 inches. Thursday should be nice, and then on Friday we
will have just a chance of a snow shower in the morning. Saturday we will have a chance of some light
snow. Then a very strong storm is likely
to start developing along the Gulf Coast on Saturday. This storm is likely to intensify quite a bit
as it heads north, up the East Coast of the United States. This storm is likely to bring more heavy snow
to our area, but it also has the potential to bring heavy snow and ice as far
south as Northern Georgia depending upon how and where this storm develops. I urge everyone from Northern Georgia to
Maine to keep a very close eye on this storm as it does have the potential to
bring 1-2 feet of snow to people in these areas depending upon how and where
the storm develops. The main effects
from this storm will be felt on Sunday to the south, possibly starting on
Saturday in the Deep South, and then on Sunday into Monday morning in the
Northeastern United States. In the
Northeastern states it is possible that the winds could also become quite
intense. After this storm passes we will
have another chance for snow next Thursday, then again next Saturday. Wow!
