And 8 Days Ago, Here Was the First Post I Made When I Realized Just How Intense This Storm Would Be

Monday, March 17th, 2014 - Evening Weather Discussion

Then next week I am starting to think we have a real chance at a very intense Nor'easter developing somewhere near the East Coast next Tuesday.

This storm would result from one disturbance dropping down from Canada at the same time that another disturbance moves along the Gulf Coast and the Polar Vortex moves into position over Southeastern Canada.  As the disturbance along the Gulf Coast moves northward up the coast, it should start to merge with the disturbance dropping down from Canada.  If these two disturbances fully phase it could very well lead to an unusually intense Nor'easter near the East Coast next Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. This is still a long way out, but I believe we need to keep a very close eye out for this possibility.
