Saturday, May 24th, 2014 - Morning Weather Discussion

The thunderstorms and heavy rain in Northeastern New Jersey were just unreal last night.  Click here to view a video from West Orange, New Jersey of the largest hail I have ever seen in NJ.  Click here to view some incredible photos from WCBS.

So, will it ever really warm up?  It had looked previously as if we might get temperatures rising into the 80’s for much of next week.  That is now looking unlikely, although we may manage a few days above 80 next week.

First though, we will have more showers and thunderstorms today with a high in the upper 60’s.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy, but it should be dry with a in the low to mid 70’s.

Memorial Day should be absolutely beautiful with a high in the low to mid 80’s.

We will then have a chance of a shower or thunderstorm on Tuesday as a cold front approaches, with a high again in the low 80’s.

Wednesday and Thursday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm and it will be cooler behind the cold front with highs in the mid to upper 60’s.

Next Friday will still be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm, but it will be warmer with a high in the upper 70’s.

Next Saturday through Monday should be nice and warm on Saturday and Sunday, with highs possibly reaching the low to mid 80’s, but dropping to the upper 60’s on Monday.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday a cold front will approach and we will also need to watch for the potential of a tropical system to develop in the Caribbean Sea and potentially move up the East Coast.  The combination of these systems could bring us some showers or thunderstorms next Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the mid 70’s.

Next Thursday and Friday should then be mostly sunny with highs in the 70’s.
