The European model was not perfect, but pretty darn close, with areas of far Northwestern New Jersey receiving less than a tenth of an inch of rain and most areas of Northwest New Jersey getting less than a quarter of an inch of rain. My weather station recorded .21 inches, or less than a quarter inch and the sun is now starting to come out as I type this.
Areas of Northeastern New Jersey received a bit more rain, in the quarter to half inch range, but far less than the 2 inches that the short range American model was showing this morning and the more than 1 inch that the American medium range model was showing this morning.
Very simply put, there is something drastically wrong with the weather forecasting models in this country as they simply are not on par with what Britain or the European Union are producing. There is also something very wrong with us paying Russia 70 million dollars per launch to launch our astronauts into space because we lost this capability as well, but that is another story.
Anyway, as the sun is coming out now and moving forward, we will have nice weather until Monday night, with highs reaching the mid 70's tomorrow, around 80 on Saturday, the low 80's on Sunday, and the mid to upper 70's on Monday.
The next chance of rain or showers will be next Monday night and Tuesday as another low pressure area will develop near or off the coast. Depending on how close that storm comes we will either get some rain or nothing again.
It will then be nice until next Saturday with our next chance of rain.
Highs will be range from the mid 60's to the mid 70's from Tuesday through Saturday.
