Well, Mother Nature is likely to throw us a surprise today;
luckily it is likely to be a good one for a change…
A few days ago it appeared as if it would be a nice day today. Then it looked as if we had the possibility
of flooding rains in Northern New Jersey today.
Now it looks as if it will be something in between, but possibly much
closer to nothing than the flooding rains.
In fact, if the latest run of the high resolution European model is
correct, some areas of Northern New Jersey may get exactly no rain today.
It now appears that the European and British models were
correct last evening when they showed the heavy rains over Southern New Jersey
and the heaviest rains remaining off shore.
The short-range American model continues to show how it is nearly
useless. We are also paying Russia 70
million dollars per launch to send our astronauts into outer space because we
currently have no way of doing so, so it really makes you think a bit. Anyway, we may really luck out today in
Northern New Jersey and New York City with only some light drizzle and
showers. Of course this can change, but
that is the way it looks right now. The
latest short-range American model that just came out still continues to say
that Northeastern New Jersey will get more than 2 inches of rain this morning,
so we will have to keep an eye out just in case, by any chance, it is right.
Moving forward from here it will be nice through Monday with
highs in the mid 70’s tomorrow, the upper 70’s on Saturday and Monday and the upper
70’s to low 80’s on Sunday.
It will remain mild next week with just a slight chance of a
shower on Monday night, Tuesday and again on Thursday. Highs will range from the mid 70’s on
Wednesday to the upper 60’s on Friday and Saturday.
Next Sunday and Monday a low pressure area may form once again
in our area, bringing us a chance of some rain and highs in the low 60’s.
Next Tuesday and Wednesday should then be mostly sunny and
cooler with highs around 60 and lows around 40.
