Well, yeah, nothing definitive yet for the holiday but the threat
is still there…
First though, it will be nice through Saturday afternoon but
very cold again today with highs only in the upper 20’s to low 30’s.
Tomorrow will warm to around 40 then drop again to the mid
30’s on Friday then back to the upper 30’s on Saturday.
Unfortunately the slight chance of some light freezing rain
has re-appeared for late on Saturday night into early Sunday morning, so we
will need to keep a close eye on that potential.
Sunday will then be cloudy during the day with rain
developing in the late afternoon or at night and becoming heavy at times
overnight on Sunday. The temperatures
will rise gradually all day on Sunday, reaching around 50 late at night.
Monday the steady rain will come to an end in the morning,
followed by a chance of showers the rest of the day and it will be very warm
with highs in the low 60’s.
Tuesday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a
shower and highs in the low 50’s.
The cold front will move through on Tuesday afternoon,
bringing colder air into our area for Wednesday and especially Wednesday night
into Thanksgiving Day.
Unfortunately, just as the busiest time of the year for
travel starts, there remains that stubborn chance for a coastal storm to
develop next Wednesday night into Thanksgiving morning. Right now it just remains a chance and is
nothing worth changing any plans right now at all, but we definitely need to
keep a close eye on this potential. There
is as much of a chance that this storm won’t happen at all as there is that it
will, but if it does, it would be terrible timing right at the busiest time for
travel of the entire year on Wednesday night into Thanksgiving morning in the
New York City area. Hopefully it doesn’t
happen…
After any potential storm on Thanksgiving morning, it should
clear out in time for a nice Thanksgiving afternoon and evening.
Unfortunately, there is also a chance of a significant storm
approaching from the west on Black Friday that would bring us a chance for
either rain or snow on Black Friday. We
will definitely need to keep a close eye on this potential as well.
Then the holiday weekend looks nice, but chilly with a
chance of a snow shower both days and highs mainly in the upper 30’s.
Back to work the following Monday should be nice, followed
by a chance of another storm potential to watch for next Tuesday.
Let’s see how all this works out. Don’t get too concerned yet. Maybe we will get lucky once again. Hopefully we will.
Have a great day!
