Saturday, December 27, 2014 - Evening Weather Discussion

The high reached 55 degrees at my location today and I saw 60 degrees while driving through Central New Jersey.

Well, if you are a snow lover, what had initially looked like a potentially very good winter for you, has done a complete turn in the other direction.  We are now nearly a third of the way through meteorological winter which runs from December through February and many areas outside of Northwest New Jersey have received nearly zero snow.

Moving forward, nothing looks to be changing any time soon with a chance of showers tomorrow and variably cloudy skies Monday through Friday.

Then next Friday night or Saturday morning a storm system will approach, possibly starting as freezing rain in some locations, but rather rapidly changing to rain on Saturday.

Then next week it will likely get quite a bit colder with highs only in the 20's and possibly not even reaching the 20's by the middle of next week, but only the chance of a snow shower from time to time.

Then when the next storm is scheduled to get here the following weekend it should once again warm up just in time to give us more rain.
