Saturday, December 27, 2014 - Morning Weather Discussion

Well, this is turning into one of those winters for snow lovers…

First though, it will be nice today with highs around 50, followed by showers tomorrow as a cold front approaches with highs in the low to mid 40’s.

Monday a storm system will remain just to our south, keeping us dry with highs around 40.

Tuesday through Thursday should then be nice, but cool with highs in the 30’s.

Friday clouds will increase with a chance of rain or freezing rain at night and highs in the upper 30’s.

Next Saturday we will have rain with highs in the low 40’s as a storm system cuts up to our west and allows warm air to move into our area ahead of it.  Then the front will move through on Saturday night as another storm system approaches.

Next Sunday colder air will move into our area behind the cold front that passed through on Saturday night.  A low pressure area may develop along the stalled out front to our south, but may remain to our south and east, bringing us a chance of some snow showers.  We will however need to keep a close eye on this one, just in case.

Next Monday should be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 30’s.

Next Tuesday through Friday will then be cold with chances for snow showers next Tuesday and Friday and highs mainly in the 20’s, although possibly only in the teens next Thursday.

Snow lovers or people who depend on snow, the next one to cross your fingers for will be next Sunday.  We will just have to wait and see what happens but these simply don’t seem to work out this winter.  The one storm the day before Thanksgiving was a freak event that had nothing to do with the overall weather pattern this winter.  It was due to the storm in the North Pacific that was stronger than Superstorm Sandy that briefly disrupted the global weather pattern.
