For those of you who depend upon snow to help make a living or if you just want to see some snow, there will apparently be two distinct chances of snow next week...
Things will then clear out tomorrow afternoon and we should have nice days on Friday and Saturday.
We will then have a chance of showers on Sunday as a cold front approaches.
Sunday night the cold front should push south of us, bringing an end to the showers and allowing cold air to filter into our area.
A storm system is then likely to develop over the Southeastern United States and start heading northeastward.
The big question will be how far south the cold front pushes, as the low pressure area will ride along this front. If the front lines up far enough south, the precipitation would remain to our south, and there are some indications that this could happen, keeping us dry on Monday. If the cold front lines up across Central or Southern New Jersey we would have a high likelihood of a significant snowstorm on Monday. And the other possibility that looks less likely would be that the front lines up further north and we end up with rain, but right now that does not look very likely. So, we will just have to wait and see what happens.
Things should then clear out behind this storm for Tuesday and Wednesday but it should be quite cold for New Year's Eve.
Then for New Year's Day we will have another chance for snow as a low pressure area may develop in the Gulf of Mexico and then head up the coast. We will just have to wait and see the exact track that this storm takes, as any track inland would change this to a chance of rain and any track further to our south would keep us dry. We will again have to wait and see what happens.
Have a wonderful Christmas Eve!
