A major Nor'easter will affect our area tomorrow. The snow should start around midnight tonight and become heavy at times, continuing until the early afternoon when it should become lighter before ending between 6 pm and 8 pm. Total accumulations should be in the 4-8 inch range throughout Northern New Jersey once north of about Rt. 78.
There is a chance that the snow could mix with or change to freezing rain or sleet for a time at the height of the storm, before changing back to snow (especially in Northeastern NJ and in areas near Rt. 78).
If by any chance the snow does not mix with sleet and freezing rain I would not be at all surprised to see some 8-10 inch snowfall amounts.
Then it now appears as if the storm scheduled for Sunday night and Monday will miss to our south and east. It is not a definite yet, but usually when you get a big storm such as the one tomorrow the atmosphere simply won't allow a second significant storm in the same locations in such a short time-period. Had the one not been so significant tomorrow, then the second storm for Monday would have likely affected our area, but now this does not seem likely.
It will then get VERY COLD with lows likely dropping BELOW ZERO on both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
We may then get a bit of light snow on Friday morning.
The next storm to watch will likely be next Sunday and Monday when another important Nor'easter may very well form.
