In the midst of one storm, but more on the way, and with
lots more snow likely…
This storm worked out pretty much as expected. I have received about 5 inches of a mixture
of snow and sleet so far. The snow,
sleet, freezing rain, and rain in some areas will continue until between 11 am
and 1 pm from west to east when it will change back to snow. We could get an
additional 1-2 inches of snow after it changes back over and comes to an end
this evening.
After this storm departs it will get cold tomorrow with lows
tomorrow morning in the low to mid single digits and highs in the low to mid 20’s.
Wednesday we will then have a chance of a snow shower with
highs in the low to mid 30’s.
Thursday, a cold front MAY combine forces with a low
pressure area along the Gulf Coast to threaten us with some snow that could
accumulate to 1-3 inches by Friday morning.
Not sure yet about this one, we will have to wait and see. The highs on Thursday should be in the mid 30’s.
Friday we have the snow coming to an end in the morning, if
the two storm systems do merge, it will then clear out but it will be cold with
highs only around 20.
Saturday we will then have increasing cloudiness as a cold
front drops down from Canada and an area of low pressure develops along the
front. This will bring us a chance of snow developing on Saturday night.
Then things may get very interesting early next week from
Sunday through Wednesday, as the cold front may stall out along the coast and a
strong low pressure area may dive down into the Southeastern United States from
Canada. This storm may then develop into
a powerful Nor’easter somewhere along the East Coast. It is much too early to
say where this storm will eventually develop, but right now it does appear that
there is a decent chance of significant snow in our area sometime between
Sunday and Wednesday of next week.
Then things should clear out next Thursday before the next
storm threat arrives next Friday through Sunday.
One storm threat after the other…
Let’s see how all this works out.
Have a great day…
