Quick Early Afternoon Update

The latest data now has the precipitation changing to freezing rain and sleet by 7 pm just about everywhere and continuing as freezing rain and sleet until around 7 am tomorrow morning when it will gradually change to snow from north to south across our area through around mid day tomorrow. The precipitation now looks a bit lighter than before also. This will hold our accumulations down to about 2-4 inches with the potential of up to a quarter inch of ice from about Rt. 78 and north, with the higher amounts in Pike County PA, Northern Sussex and Northern Passaic Counties in NJ, and Orange County in NY. There could be some 5 inch snowfall amounts in Orange County, NY.

Areas to the south of Rt. 78 should get a dusting to an inch or two of accumulation of snow with the potential of a tenth of an inch of ice.
