The snow has a high "fluff factor" due to the extremely cold temperatures leading to accumulations on the high end of expectations with many 2 inch readings throughout our area. In addition, with temperatures only in the high single digits to low teens, the salt simply does not work, so road conditions are poor.
The snow will come to an end between 10 am and 12 noon.
The next round of snow will come tomorrow night between 8 pm and 11 pm as the Alberta Clipper passes by.
If these two storms had merged you can only imagine how bad this storm would have been.
Then a significant snowstorm is likely this weekend. Yeah there is still a small chance it could mix with rain but it is looking less likely this morning.
More a bit later with the look at the next 2 weeks and morning weather discussion.
