A bit on Thursday, then much more likely Sunday night through Wednesday...
This morning was simply amazing as there were widespread low temperatures of 14 degrees below zero in Northwest NJ, with some temperatures of 15 below zero in the coldest spots. This is the coldest I have seen in 21 years.
Moving forward, the cold kept a storm system to our south and east today and it will do so again tomorrow night, bringing us just a chance of flurries or a dusting of snow on Thursday. Meanwhile, North Carolina got 2 inches of snow today and will get another 6 inches of snow tomorrow night.
Then this weekend a cold front will stall out nearby and a couple of low pressure areas will ride along this front on Sunday night into Monday morning and again Tuesday into Wednesday morning. It now appears likely that both of these storms will be all snow. It is still too early to tell how much, although at the moment the storm for Sunday night into Monday morning appears to be light to moderate with the Tuesday into Wednesday morning one looking more likely to be significant.
Things should then clear out for next Thursday and then another chance of snow will return for next Friday.
Please join me in the morning for the latest information on the impending snow for early next week.
