Tuesday, February 3, 2015 - Morning Weather Discussion

Lots more snow may very well be on the way, including a POTENTIALLY massive snowstorm for someone along the East Coast…

First though, it will be cold today with lows in the single digits and highs only around 20.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy but warmer with a chance of a snow shower in the morning and highs in the low to mid 30’s.

Thursday two storm systems will combine off the coast to bring us a bit of snow on Thursday that could accumulate to a dusting to an inch or two.

Friday will be mostly sunny but cold with lows in the single digits and highs around 20.

Saturday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower and highs around 30.

Sunday a cold front will drop down from Canada with an associated low pressure area. This cold front will stall out just to our south and east and the low pressure area will drop down to the base of the cold front over the Southeastern United States on Sunday night. The low pressure area will then start to intensify as is moves very slowly northward along the stalled out cold front along the East Coast. I believe it will spend some time stalled out just off the Delmarva Peninsula. IF that were to occur it would likely put our area in a prime spot to get heavy snow.

I truly believe that someone, somewhere, along or inland of the East Coast from the Southeastern United States to New England could get staggering snowfall totals with this storm, more than with the previous blizzard that hit New England. Please keep in mind that just because I THINK this will happen, does NOT mean it will. Please don’t go around saying that a blizzard is coming. I am NOT saying that either. What I am saying is that I BELIEVE someone along or inland of the East Coast may get an amazing amount of snow with this storm. We should keep a very close eye on this potential, but sometimes they don’t work out and even when you think you have it figured out, sometimes someone else gets the storm. The last storm I was the first to see the potential and someone DID get that storm, it just was not Northern New Jersey. Will this even happen?  I believe it will, but I definitely could be wrong. Just take this as a possibility at this point and let’s keep an eye on it.

What I truly dislike though is when people start spreading rumors that I said this will happen. Let me be very clear that I am not saying this will happen, I am saying I THINK it will happen. I could be wrong, and that is very different from me saying it WILL happen.

So, there will be a chance of snow from Sunday through Wednesday, and then things will clear out before the next storm threatens us by the end of the following weekend.

Please check back for the latest. Things MAY very well get VERY interesting by the end of the weekend, BUT we will have to wait and see.

Have a wonderful day.
