Wednesday, February 4, 2015 - Evening Weather Discussion

A bit of snow tomorrow, then it still looks as if a big storm is on the way for Sunday and Monday...

Tomorrow we will be sandwiched between an approaching cold front and a low pressure area off the coast, saving us from a larger snowfall, but we can still expect a dusting to an inch, or possibly a bit more in some spots. The light snow and snow showers should start between midnight and 3 am and end between 10 am and noon.

Friday will then be nice but cold.

Saturday we will have increasing cloudiness with a chance of snow developing at night as a cold front approaches.

Sunday the snow should continue as a low pressure area rides along the front. This low pressure area will ride along the front very slowly, taking until Monday night or early Tuesday morning before reaching the coast and finally ending the snow. There is still a slight chance that the storm could stall out and intensify once it reaches the coast on Tuesday morning but that is looking a bit less likely at the moment. Right now to throw an initial snowfall estimate out there it looks like 3-6 inches would be possible on Sunday with another 3-6 inches on Monday, for a total of 6-12 inches. As I said previously there is still a chance that this storm could develop further and turn into something more significant but that is the way it looks right now. We need to keep a close eye on this storm in case it does turn into something more significant, which is still very possible.

After this storm passes, we should have clearing on Tuesday, followed by a nice day on Wednesday, unless the storm stalls and does something interesting those two days instead.

Then next Thursday we would have a chance for a bit more snow, followed by nice days Friday and Saturday.

The next chance of snow will arrive again next Sunday through Tuesday.

Please join me in the morning for the latest...

Have a wonderful evening.
