I read and heard some amazing stuff from the weather people on television this morning and in the headlines of the local paper today from one of the private weather companies. They were talking about an end to wintry weather and it only getting better from here. The private weather guy from one of the well-know private weather companies even said, "He sees no big storms anywhere in sight for at least the next few weeks". I said it a few days ago when one of these same guys was saying similar things only a few days ago when I was talking about the the possibility of the big storm that hit yesterday. Well, they are doing it again...
Here is what I was saying on Monday morning when the news weather people were talking about rain on Tuesday, followed by 50 degrees with rain on Wednesday and then spring. NO mention of snow for Thursday in New York City at all on Monday. Incredible really. Yeah, they are doing it again.
Honestly, the pattern we are heading into as we head through March and even into the end of March looks much more like a January would normally look with numerous chances for significant snow.
First though, we got some really beautiful but cold weather today and we will have more tomorrow. It will even warm up a bit tomorrow with highs in the mid 30's.
We will then have a chance of a snow shower tomorrow night.
Sunday will be nice but with a chance of a snow shower at night again, and possibly into Monday morning.
Tuesday, regardless of the fact that the National Weather Service and most major television forecasters are saying it will be sunny on Tuesday, it most likely won't be...
Tuesday a storm system will move northward out of the Gulf of Mexico, bringing a chance of rain on Tuesday and if the storm arrives early enough in the morning it may start as some snow, sleet, or freezing rain in the morning.
Then Wednesday and Thursday should be nice.
Next Friday, once again even though the National Weather Service says it will be sunny, it likely won't be, as another low pressure area will approach from the Gulf of Mexico, bringing us a chance of rain or snow.
This storm will likely continue through the day on Saturday and possibly even into Sunday with chances for rain, snow, freezing rain, or sleet.
Then we may get a break next Monday before a Nor'easter develops next Tuesday and Wednesday with a threat for snow.
The threats for snow will likely continue until at least the end of March. As I said before, the pattern will return to one more like January than what it is normally around here in March.
Yeah, this forecast was slightly different from the other guy in headlines today with no big storms in sight, and the others that see flowers bursting out of the grass that is two feet under snow at the moment.
Yeah, maybe I am wrong, but at the moment I am more thinking what I was on Monday. What are they thinking? What are the looking at? What are they doing?
Below is a photo I took last evening from my office. Have a wonderful evening.
