I believe the call for the end of the wintry type weather
that I am hearing on the New York City news this morning is likely premature…
I am expecting widespread snow amounts of 4-10 inches
throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, ALL of New Jersey, Southeastern New York
State, New York City, and Long Island. There is a chance that areas of far
northern Pike and Northwestern Sussex and Orange Counties could get a bit less,
but I do expect most people to fit in the 4-10 inch category. The snow will
start to taper off between about 4 pm and 7 pm, with flurries and light snow
ending completely between around 7 pm and 10 pm from west to east. Temperatures
will drop through the day.
Tomorrow should then be nice but cold with lows in the low
to mid single digits and highs in the low 20’s.
Things should then start to warm up a bit this weekend with
highs in the mid to upper 30’s but there will be a chance of some snow showers
on Saturday night.
Then Sunday night into Monday morning one low pressure will
approach from the south and another will approach from the north. We should end
up between these two storms, giving us only a chance of some light snow or snow
showers. It will then warm up on Monday with highs in the low 40’s.
Tuesday another low pressure will approach from the south,
bringing us a chance of snow in the morning, then a chance of rain, freezing
rain, sleet, or snow in the afternoon and at night.
The storm will linger into Wednesday morning with a chance
of rain, snow, sleet, or freezing rain.
Next Thursday should be nice with highs in the mid 40’s.
Next Friday, through the following Wednesday, a cold front
will stall out nearby with low pressure areas riding along the front. This will
bring us a chance of rain, snow, freezing rain, or sleet from next Friday night
through the following Wednesday. It won’t
precipitate the entire time but there will be a chance of precipitation at any
time between next Friday night and the following Wednesday and I do believe
there will be a relatively good chance of some accumulating snow at some point
between next Friday night and the following Wednesday.
Be sure to check back for updates on all the various chances
for inclement weather over the next two weeks.
More later…
