Wednesday, March 11, 2015 - Evening Weather Discussion

It was 60 degrees today in some places in Northern New Jersey, but will we be able to escape the next two weeks without a significant snowstorm?

My weather station hit 58 today!

Unfortunately, it won't last and it will be quite a bit cooler tomorrow with highs back in the 40's.

Then Friday a low pressure area will approach, bringing with it some some rain late Friday night and Saturday.

The rain could start as a brief period of snow, sleet, or freezing rain, but it should rather quickly change to rain.

Saturday will then be a rainy day and Sunday will only be a bit better with a chance of rain or snow showers.

Monday should then be nice with highs in the 40's.

Then a cold front will approach on Monday night, bringing some showers into Tuesday morning.

Then Tuesday there is a chance of a Nor'easter developing, however it continues to look more likely that it will develop further north, keeping us with just a chance of some rain or snow showers during the day on Tuesday. However, there remains a slight chance that this Nor'easter could develop further south off the Middle Atlantic Coast on Tuesday. If that were to occur it would threaten us with snow on Tuesday. I will be keeping a close eye on this one, just in case. Be sure to check back for updates.

Things will then clear out on Wednesday and we should have a nice Thursday before the next storm approaches from the West on Friday night. The high temperatures for the middle to the end of next week will be in the middle to upper 30's.

Then next Friday night through the following Monday or Tuesday we will have a chance of snow as two separate storm systems may approach from the west, with the second one for Sunday through Tuesday likely to turn into a Nor'easter.

We will be lucky to escape the next weeks without seeing any significant snow. We shall see how it goes...
