Sunday, July 17, 2016 - Morning Weather Discussion

It’s going to get HOT…

First of all, a tornado was confirmed from the storm that hit Warren County, NJ Thursday that damaged some structures and injured one person. Click here to read the story and view the pictures.

It will be warm again today with just a chance of a shower or thunderstorm on Eastern Long Island and in Fairfield County, CT, and a slight chance in Southeastern New York State and on Western Long Island. Highs will range from the low to mid 80’s along the coast and on Eastern Long Island to around 90 in many inland locations.

Tomorrow the news will be the intense heat as highs will reach the low to mid 90’s in most inland locations. There will be a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm, especially in Northeastern PA.

Tuesday should be a touch cooler with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm and highs from the mid 80’s to the low 90’s in inland locations.

Wednesday looks mostly sunny with highs mainly from the upper 70’s to the mid 80’s.

Thursday through next Monday it then looks like we will be in store for a heat wave with highs in the 90’s in most inland locations. Some inland locations might break 100 degrees Friday through Sunday, making for the potential of an intense heat wave. There will also be a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm Thursday through Saturday and again next Monday.

Next Tuesday looks to be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm and it should be a touch cooler with highs from the mid 80’s to the mid 90’s.

Next Wednesday looks mostly sunny and cooler with highs in the 80’s.

Next Thursday and Friday there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms with highs from the upper 70’s to the mid 80’s.

Next Saturday looks mostly sunny with highs in the upper 70’s along the coast and around 90 inland.

Have a fantastic day and get ready for the heat…

Don’t forget to install the new Edge Weather app if you did not already do so.

Search “edgeweather” in the Apple App Store or in the Google Play Store.

The fastest way to access the Edge Weather forecasts through the app is to click on the Edge Weather logo on the top third of the screen, or under the buttons for the Edge Weather Forecasts under the “About Edge Weather” and “Social Media” sections of the app.

Some improvements in the new app:

Useful links now available on the side bar that can be accessed by pressing the blue button on the top right of the screen. The useful links has access to key terms, local weather links, radar links, satellite links, and prior forecasts when I forecast storms from two weeks in advance.

Under "About Edge Weather" you will find links to some newspaper articles that I appeared in previously, as well as ways to submit photos or contact me.

Under "Social Media" you will find links to easily access Edge Weather on Twitter and on Facebook, as well as a new feature, “Edge Weather Forum”, where you can share any thoughts and ideas, and now Edge Weather YouTube videos!

Also added was an option to share the app with your friends in the "About Edge Weather" and "Social Media" sections of the app, as well as on the side bar, so please go ahead and share the app with your friends.

Enjoy and submit your recommendations under the appropriate link.  I am always looking for good ideas.
