Friday, August 26, 2016 - Evening Weather Discussion

Nice but quite warm with chances for two heat waves...

It will be nice but quite warm over the next two weeks with two chances for heat waves. One today through Thursday in some places and then it gets a bit cooler next Friday and Saturday with another chance of an even more intense heat wave next Sunday through Thursday when highs could reach the low to mid 90's in many places.

The only really decent chance of any rain right now looks to be next Wednesday with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm.

As for what had looked like the potential for a hurricane around Florida and in the Gulf of Mexico next week, this is now looking less likely as conditions are looking less favorable for development of this system. So, for right now, it just looks like the possibility of some significant rains in the Southeastern United States with this system, but nothing that looks too bad. Let's hope this holds true. This system should also remain well south of our area and head out to sea the middle of next week, with no effect on the Allentown or New York City Metropolitan areas.

Have a wonderful evening and stay cool...
