Friday, August 26, 2016 - Morning Weather Discussion

Nice for a while, but as for the tropical system to our south…

It will be nice, possibly throughout the next two weeks with just a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm Monday through Wednesday and again Labor Day through next Thursday. Highs should generally be in the 80’s, with some low 90’s possible today through Thursday, then possibly dropping to the 70’s next Friday and Saturday before rising to the 80’s again next Sunday and possibly to the low to mid 90’s Labor Day through next Thursday.

As for the tropical system in the Bahamas, the models are now suggesting that this storm may strengthen a bit to tropical storm strength, but after reaching Southern Florida, it should then head due north, remaining over the peninsula, which would prevent it from gaining any strength. We will have to wait and see how this works out. This would indeed be the best case scenario for Florida and the Gulf Coast.

Have a fantastic day!
