A slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm and then a storm develops in the Gulf of Mexico...
There will be a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm tonight and tomorrow and then again on Monday. Temperatures will be in the 80's to possibly even the low to mid 90's in some locations.
A tropical depression will likely develop in the Bahamas this evening, heading eastward across southern Florida Sunday, then into the extreme Western Gulf of Mexico Monday and Tuesday. It will likely head due north along the Florida West Coast, causing heavy rain and possibly some flooding. It currently looks as if the storm will be just close enough to the coast to prevent it from developing into a very strong storm, but there remains a possibility it could reach hurricane strength prior to making landfall on the Florida Panhandle.
As for our area, the current projected track would keep the storm to our south, leaving us with only a chance of a shower or thunderstorm Tuesday and Wednesday, then clearing.
Tuesday and Wednesday there will then be a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm with highs in the 80's.
Next Thursday through Saturday then look nice with highs remaining in the 80's.
Next Sunday then looks nice with highs possibly rising to the low to mid 90's.
Next Monday and Tuesday then look variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm and highs in the low to mid 90's.
Next Wednesday looks mostly sunny with highs dropping to the 80's.
