Sorry, no white Christmas…
Today will be nice with highs in the low to mid 40’s.
Sorry, it looked like there was a chance of a bit of snow in some places tomorrow morning, but that is not going to happen. The trend so far this season has been for the warm air to take over, and this time will be same. In addition, there is no cold air in place in our area, so luckily for those of you who are travelling tomorrow morning, the temperatures will remain above freezing in most places. There will still be a slight chance of some pockets of freezing rain in parts of East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State and in Northern Fairfield County, CT, so please be careful tomorrow morning if driving in these locations. The precipitation will start in the morning between about 6 am and 8 am and will end in the late morning or early afternoon. Highs tomorrow will be in the low to mid 40’s.
Christmas Day then looks nice with highs in the low to mid 40’s.
Monday, we will have increasing cloudiness with a chance of some showers at night as a cold front approaches our area. Highs will be in the 40’s.
Tuesday there will be a chance of shower in the morning, then clearing. Highs will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s.
Wednesday will then be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a rain or snow shower. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30’s.
Thursday a strong storm system will approach from the west. This storm will likely push up to our west, causing warm air to surge northward into our area. This would give us a chance of rain, sleet, freezing rain, or snow developing in the morning, and then changing to rain. There remains a small chance that this storm will develop into a Nor’easter as it reaches the NJ Coast. If by any chance this were to occur, it would lock the cold air in place and could produce a snowstorm in our area. This looks unlikely, but I will be keeping a close eye out for this possibility. Highs will be in the 40’s to low 50’s if the storm does indeed track up to our west.
Next Friday will then be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a snow shower. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.
New Year’s Eve will then be mostly sunny and cold with highs in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.
New Year’s Day will likely be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower as a weak disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.
Next Monday and Tuesday then look nice with highs in the 30’s.
Next Wednesday there will be increasing cloudiness with a chance of rain or snow developing as a storm system approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.
Next Thursday there will be a chance of rain or snow ending in the morning, then clearing. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.
