Colder and a storm on the way…
It will be colder today and even colder tomorrow and Sunday. There will also be a chance of a Lake Effect snow shower today and tomorrow in parts of our area that could leave a coating of snow, especially tomorrow. Highs will be in the 30’s today and the upper 20’s to mid 30’s tomorrow and Sunday.
Sunday snow will develop between about 3 pm and 6 pm from west to east across the Allentown and New York City Metropolitan areas as a storm system approaches from the west.
Monday some warm air will start to push into our area from the south, causing the snow to change to rain from south to north, by around 4 am, in East Central PA, Northern NJ, NYC, and on Long Island by around 6 am, and in Northeastern PA, Southeastern NY State and Fairfield County, CT, by around 9 am.
Total possible snowfall accumulations:
Coating to an inch possible: Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island
1-3 inches possible: Northeastern NJ, Rockland and Westchester Counties in NY, and Southern Fairfield County, CT
2-4 inches possible: East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, Putnam County, NY, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT
3-5 inches possible: Northeastern PA and Orange County, NY
Lows Monday morning will be in the mid to upper 20’s in Northeastern PA, the upper 20’s to low 30’s in East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY and Northern Fairfield County, CT, the low to mid 30’s in Northeastern NJ, and Southern Fairfield County, CT, the mid 30’s in Central NJ, and NYC, and the upper 30’s to low 40’s along the coast and on Long Island. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to low 40’s in Northeastern NJ, the low to mid 40’s in East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State and in Fairfield County, CT, the mid to upper 40’s in Northeastern NJ, the upper 40’s in NYC and on Long Island, and in the low 50’s in Central NJ.
Tuesday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of some rain or snow at night. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.
Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of rain or snow as a storm system may approach from the west, but this is currently uncertain. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s inland and in the upper 30’s along the coast.
Thursday and Friday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a snow shower. Highs will be mainly in the 20’s.
Next Saturday there is a chance of snow as a storm system may approach from the west and develop into a Nor’easter. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to low 30’s inland and in the mid 30’s along the coast.
Next Sunday looks variably cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.
Next Monday and Tuesday look variably cloudy with highs mainly around 30 inland.
Next Wednesday there will be a chance of snow as a storm system approaches from the west. Highs will be in the 30’s.
Next Thursday looks variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower. Highs will be mainly in the 30’s.
