A touch of snow possible tomorrow night, then COLD and another chance for some snow…
Well, I was trying to stay on the low end with the snowfall totals yesterday but I still ended up a bit high, and very high in East Central and Northeastern PA. I thought that more snow would fall prior to the changeover, but we had a giant break in the snow, and then when the main moisture moved in, so did the warm air. Anyway, moving forward…
The rain will end this morning and highs will be in the 40’s throughout the Allentown and New York City Metropolitan areas.
Tomorrow we will then have increasing cloudiness with a chance of some snow showers or light snow developing in the late afternoon or evening, especially in Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State and in Northern Fairfield County, CT, where a coating to an inch of accumulation will be possible.
Wednesday then looks nice with highs ranging from around 30 in Northeastern PA to the low 40’s in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island.
Thursday then looks variably cloudy with a slight chance of a snow shower as a strong cold front moves through our area. Highs will range from only the mid to upper teens in Northeastern PA to the mid 20’s in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island.
Friday then looks nice, but VERY COLD, with lows dropping as low as the low to mid single digits BELOW ZERO in Northeastern PA to the mid single digits above zero in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island. Highs will range from only the low to mid teens in Northeastern PA to the low 20’s in Central and Northeastern NJ, NYC, and on Long Island.
Saturday a strong storm system will then approach from the west, and like the storm last night, it will start as snow Saturday morning, but then change to rain. Since the temperatures prior to the storm will be about 10 degrees colder than they were with this storm, there is the likelihood of some significant accumulation of snow and ice in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State and in Fairfield County, CT, with the chance of some accumulation in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island Saturday morning. The snow and ice should then change to rain as temperatures rise Saturday afternoon. Highs should be in the 40’s late in the day.
Sunday the rain will end late in the day as a strong cold front moves through. Temperatures should remain in the 30’s to low 40’s all day.
Next Monday and Tuesday then look nice, but cold, with highs in the 20’s next Monday and the mid 20’s to low 30’s next Tuesday.
Next Wednesday we will have a chance of rain or snow as a storm system approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.
Next Thursday then looks nice, and warmer, with highs in the 40’s.
Next Friday we will have a chance of rain or snow showers as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs should be in the 40’s.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day then look nice with highs in the 40’s.
