A storm is on the way…
There will be some Lake Effect snow showers around this evening that could leave a coating of snow in some places.
Tomorrow light snow will develop in the afternoon and evening between about 2 pm and 6 pm from west to east across the Allentown and New York City Metropolitan areas. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s tomorrow.
Monday the snow will start to change to rain from south to north, beginning with Central NJ between about 3 and 4 am, and then in East Central PA, Northern NJ, NYC, Long Island, Rockland, Westchester and Putnam Counties in NY, and in Fairfield County, CT, between about 4 am and 7 am. The precipitation may remain all snow in Northeastern PA, far Northern Sussex County, NJ, and Northwestern Orange County, NY. The precipitation will end in the afternoon or early evening. Highs will be in the low to mid 40’s.
Total possible accumulations are as follows:
A coating possible: Central NJ
A coating to an inch possible: NYC and Long Island
A coating to an inch or two possible: Northeastern NJ, Rockland and Westchester Counties in NY, and Fairfield County, CT
1-3 inches possible: East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY
2-5 inches possible: Northeastern PA
Tuesday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a snow shower. Highs will range from the mid to upper 30’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 40’s in Central NJ and on Eastern Long Island.
Wednesday, we will have increasing cloudiness in the afternoon with a chance of some light snow or snow showers at night as a couple of disturbances approach our area. Highs will range from the mid to upper 20’s in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper 30’s in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island.
Thursday will then be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a Lake Effect snow shower. Highs will range from the mid to upper teens in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper 20’s along the coast.
Friday will be mostly sunny but very cold with highs in the teens to low 20’s.
Next Saturday there will be a chance of rain and snow in our area. Snowfall amounts could be significant and there could also be some ice. Highs will range from the mid to upper 20’s in parts of Northeastern PA, far Northwestern NJ, and Orange and Putnam Counties in NY to the upper 40’s to low 50’s in East Central NJ and on the south coast of Long Island.
Next Sunday there will be a chance of rain, snow, or ice. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.
Next Monday then looks nice with highs in the mid 20’s to low 30’s.
Next Tuesday there will be a chance of rain or snow at night with highs in the mid 20’s to low 30’s.
Next Wednesday there will again be a chance of rain or snow at night with highs in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.
Next Thursday there will be a chance of rain or snow, with highs in the 30’s.
Next Friday looks nice with highs in the 30’s.
