Wednesday, December 21, 2016 - Morning Weather Discussion

Snow Christmas Eve Morning? So much for the quiet pattern…

Things will start out nice and a bit warmer today with highs reaching from the mid to upper 30’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 40’s in Northeastern NJ and NYC.

Tomorrow a weak disturbance will pass by to our north, bringing us a chance of a rain or snow shower, especially in Southeastern NY State and in Fairfield County, CT. A coating of accumulation is possible in Southeastern NY State and in Fairfield County, CT. Highs will be mainly in the low to mid 40’s.

Friday will then be mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 40’s.

Christmas Eve we will have a chance of rain or snow in the morning as a disturbance passes through our area. Some snow accumulation in possible in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State and in Fairfield County, CT, especially in Northeastern PA. Highs will be in the low to mid 40’s.

Christmas Day then looks nice during the day, but then clouds will increase late in the day and some rain or snow could develop late at night as a warm front approaches the area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s.

Monday there will be a chance of rain and snow ending early in the morning, then it will be variably cloudy. Highs will be mainly in the 40’s.

Tuesday, we will have a chance of rain showers in the morning, then clearing as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the 50’s in the morning, then will drop in the late afternoon.

Next Wednesday then looks nice, but with increasing cloudiness late in the day. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30’s.

Next Thursday a storm system will approach from the Southeastern United States. This will bring us a chance of rain or snow developing in the morning, possibly becoming heavy at times, then ending in the afternoon. Highs will range from the 40’s in East Central and Northeastern PA, far Northwestern NJ, and in Orange County NY, to the 50’s in Central and Northeastern NJ, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester Counties in NY, on Long Island and in Fairfield County, CT.

Next Friday, New Year’s Day and next Tuesday then look variably cloudy with a chance of some snow showers. Highs will be mainly in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

New Year’s Eve and next Monday look to be mostly sunny with highs in the 30’s New Year’s Eve and the mid 30’s to low 40’s Next Monday.
