Thursday, August 24, 2017 - Evening Weather Discussion

Harvey is about to do some damage…

Harvey was upgraded to a hurricane this morning and will continue to strengthen until going inland Friday night or early Saturday morning between Corpus Christi and Galveston Texas.

In addition, early next week a tropical system is likely to form along the coast of the Southeastern United States but this storm should only bring some rain and high surf to the Carolinas, then head out to sea.

In our area things will remain quite nice through next Thursday with highs mainly in the 70’s through Wednesday, then rising to the mid 70’s to mid 80’s Thursday.

Then next Friday into Saturday morning the remnants of Harvey are likely to pass through our area, bringing a chance of some heavy showers and thunderstorms with highs in the 70’s next Friday, dropping to the 60’s next Saturday.

Next Sunday through Wednesday then look variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as a couple of disturbances and a cold front pass through our area. Highs will be in the 70’s.

Have a wonderful evening!
