Sunday, September 17, 2017 - Evening Weather Discussion

Watching Jose and Maria…

Hurricane Jose will approach our area, bringing a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm this evening and tomorrow with highs in the 70’s.

Tuesday and Wednesday, we will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms, possibly heavy at times, as Jose passes about 100 miles off the coast of NJ. There could be some flooding in Central and Northeastern NJ, NYC, Southeastern NY State, Fairfield County, CT, and on Long Island, especially Eastern Long Island. Winds could also become quite gusty, especially along the coast and on Long Island. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s Tuesday and the 70’s Wednesday.

Thursday through Saturday then look variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as Jose may remain nearly stationary off shore, then loop back around towards our area. Highs will be in the 70’s to low 80’s Thursday, the 70’s Friday, and the mid 70’s to low 80’s Saturday.

Next Sunday through Friday will remain variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as the remnants of Jose approach and then Maria makes a run at us. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70’s next Sunday through Wednesday, dropping to the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Thursday and Friday.

Next Saturday then looks nice with highs in the 60’s.
