Heavy showers and thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow will bring flash flooding to some locations with up to 3 inches of rain in some places as moist air streams into our area ahead of an approaching cold front. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid 60’s to low 70’s.
Thursday through Saturday will then be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s Thursday, the 60’s to low 70’s Friday, and the 60’s Saturday.
Saturday into Sunday major hurricane Irma will be approaching Florida. Hurricane Irma is currently the STRONGEST STORM EVER RECORDED IN THE ATLANTIC OCEAN with maximum sustained winds of 185 mph. Click here to read the story...
Click here for the latest on Irma from the National Hurricane Center.
Irma will track north of Puerto Rico and Hispaniola, reaching near Cuba. Irma will then turn north. There is still much uncertainty as to whether Irma will strike South Florida, head into the Gulf of Mexico, or miss Florida and head north towards the Carolinas. Wherever Irma strikes, needless to say, there will be considerable damage. Be sure to check back in the morning for the latest.
In our area Sunday through next Tuesday will then be nice with highs in the mid 60’s to low 70’s Sunday, the upper 60’s to mid 70’s Monday, and the 70’s next Tuesday.
Next Wednesday through Friday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms as the remnants of Irma pass through our area. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Wednesday, the 60’s to low 70’s Thursday, and the 70’s next Friday.
Next Saturday through Monday then look nice with highs in the 70’s.
Have a wonderful evening!
