Friday, November 17, 2017 - Evening Weather Discussion

Unsettled this weekend and next weekend could get really interesting…

Clouds will increase tomorrow morning with rain developing in the afternoon and evening as a cold front and associated storm system approach from the west. The precipitation could start as a brief period of mixed precipitation in parts of Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, and Orange County, NY. Highs will range from the low 40’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 50’s along the coast and on Eastern Long Island.

Sunday the rain will end in the morning as a cold front passes through or area, followed by variably cloudy skies and chance of a snow shower or squall at night. It will also be quite windy as the cold air rushes into our area. A coating of snow could accumulate in some inland locations Sunday night. High temperatures will be in the 50’s to low 60’s in the morning, dropping to the upper 30’s and 40’s inland and the low 50’s along the coast and on Eastern Long island in the afternoon.

Monday and Tuesday will then be nice with highs in the 40’s Monday and the upper 40’s and 50’s Tuesday.

Wednesday, we will have a chance of rain in the morning, followed by clearing as a Nor’easter develops off the East Coast and then heads out to sea. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Thursday and next Friday will then be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s Thursday and the 40’s next Friday.

Thursday and next Friday a Tropical Storm may form in the Southeastern Gulf of Mexico. This storm will then track northeastward up the East Coast.

Next Saturday and Sunday we will have a chance of rain or snow as the remnants of the Tropical Storm in the Gulf of Mexico may combine with a strong disturbance (Alberta Clipper) dropping down from Canada, forming into a Nor’easter along or off the East Coast of the United States. Highs will be in the 40’s next Saturday and the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Sunday.

Next Monday through Thursday will then be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Have a wonderful evening!
