Tuesday, March 13, 2018 - Morning Weather Discussion

Snow ending and then watching the next potential Nor’easter…

The snow will end this morning in most places, but continuing into the afternoon in Fairfield County, CT and on Eastern Long island. Winds could also gust as high as 40 mph inland and 60 mph on Eastern Long island. There could be some coastal flooding and some power outages will be likely on Eastern Long Island. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.

Total possible final accumulations as follows:

1-4 inches – East Central PA, Central NJ, New York City

2-5 inches – Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, Orange and Rockland Counties in NY

3-6 inches – Western Long Island, Westchester and Putnam Counties in NY

4-8 inches – Central Long Island and Fairfield County, CT

8-16 inches – Eastern Long Island

Tomorrow will then be variably cloudy with a chance of snow showers in the afternoon and evening with a coating to an inch of accumulation possible, except up to 2 inches possible in Northeastern PA.  Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.

Thursday and Friday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s Thursday and the mid 20’s to mid 30’s Friday.

Saturday and Sunday then look variably cloudy with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Monday clouds will increase as a couple of disturbances approach from the west. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Tuesday into Wednesday morning there will be a chance of snow as the two approaching disturbances may phase, turning into a Nor’easter near the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the 30’s next Tuesday and the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Wednesday.

Next Thursday through Saturday then look nice with highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Thursday, and the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Friday and Saturday.

Next Sunday into Monday morning there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the 40’s.
