Two very weak disturbances are approaching our area today and will combine tonight to bring some light precipitation to our area. It should be snow in most places, except possibly near the coast, but it will likely be too warm to accumulate in parts of our area. The precipitation should start between about 10 pm in East Central PA and 2 am in Fairfield County, CT and on Eastern Long Island, ending early in the morning tomorrow. Total possible accumulations of a trace to an inch or two in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, and a trace to a coating possible in NYC and on Long Island.
Christmas Eve the light snow will end early in the morning, then it will be variably cloudy with a chance of rain or snow showers. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.
Christmas Day through Thursday will then be variably cloudy with highs in the 30’s Christmas Day, the mid 30’s to low 40’s Wednesday, and the low to mid 30’s Thursday.
Friday, a strong storm system will pass through our area. This will cause rain to develop in the morning, possibly beginning as a brief period of freezing rain, sleet, or snow. Highs will range from the upper 30’s to mid 40’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 50’s in Central NJ.
Saturday will then be variably cloudy with highs in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.
Next Sunday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.
New Year’s Eve clouds will increase with a chance of rain or snow developing in the afternoon or at night as a strong storm system approaches our area. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.
New Year’s Day there will be a chance of rain or snow as the storm system passes through our area, possibly turning into a Nor’easter near the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the 30’s.
Next Wednesday will then be variably cloudy with highs in the 30’s.
Next Thursday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower as a weak disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the 30’s.
Next Friday will then be variably cloudy with highs in the 30’s.
Next Saturday there will be a chance of rain or snow as a storm system passes through our area. Highs will be in the 30’s.
