Wednesday, December 19, 2018 - Morning Weather Discussion

Heavy flooding rain and strong wind Friday and then a bit of Christmas Eve snow possible…

Today will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 30’s to low 40’s.

Tomorrow clouds will increase in the morning, with rain developing in the afternoon and evening as a strong storm system approaches from the Southeastern United States. The rain will become heavy at times at night. It will also become windy. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Friday there will be rain, heavy at times early in the morning, followed by variably cloudy skies and a chance of a shower. Some flooding will be likely with 1-4 inches of rainfall. It will also be very windy in the morning with gusts of up to 60 mph possible early in the morning. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to low 60’s as warm air surges into our area with the strong southerly winds.

Saturday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower early in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the 30’s to mid 40’s.

Sunday will then be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Christmas Eve will be variably cloudy with a chance of some light snow or snow showers in the morning as a weak disturbance passes through our area. Some light snowfall accumulation will be possible. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Christmas Day through next Thursday will then be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s Christmas Day and next Wednesday and the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Thursday.

Next Friday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of showers as a disturbance passes to our north. Highs will be in the 40’s.

Next Saturday and Sunday will then be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Saturday and the 30’s next Sunday.

New Year’ Eve clouds will increase with a chance of rain or snow developing as a storm system approaches our area. Highs will be in the 30’s.

New Year’s Day there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the 30’s.
