A Quick Important Update on the Weekend Storm...

Analyzing the data this evening the models are pretty clear that the center of the storm will reach Tennessee and Kentucky Saturday night. Then the spread between the various possibilities gets unusually large, ranging anywhere from Southern Virginia to over Northern NJ Sunday morning. This also happens to be the time that the heaviest precipitation will be falling in our area, and as I have been saying, any change in track will make a big difference to us. Any shift of the track of this storm to the northwest would mean more rain, and any track further southeast would mean more ice and snow.

I guess what I am saying in simple terms is that there is unusually high bust potential with this storm in either direction. This is a rather complex situation where the storm will be heading north towards West Virginia and then will hit a block and head east. If it doesn't make it all the way to West Virginia and then heads east, it would allow more cold air to remain locked in our area. If the center of the storm makes it to West Virginia and then heads east north east through NJ, we would see a lot more in the way of rain.

We will just have to wait and see how this works out, but keep your guard up for some potential surprises tomorrow, either way, and you now know why.
