TODAY – snow developing between about 2-3 pm in the Allentown and Scranton PA areas, to 8-9 pm on Eastern Long Island, then changing to rain in the evening in Central NJ, and at night in NYC and on Long Island, and to a mixture of sleet, freezing rain, and rain elsewhere, becoming windy at night with gusts of 20-40 mph possible, highs in the 30’s

TOMORROW – rain, and some freezing rain in Northeastern PA, Northern NJ (especially Northwestern NJ), Southeastern NY (especially Orange and Putnam Counties), and in Fairfield County, CT (especially Northern Fairfield County), possibly changing back to a little snow, freezing rain, or sleet, before ending in the late morning and afternoon from west to east across our area, windy, with gusts of 30-50 mph possible inland, and up to 60 mph possible on Long Island and in Southern Fairfield County, CT, lows from the mid 20’s to low 30’s in Northeastern PA to the upper 30’s to mid 40’s in Central NJ, highs in the morning in the low to mid 30’s in Northeastern PA, far Northwestern NJ, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT, the upper 30’s and 40’s in East Central PA, the rest of Northern NJ, Rockland and Westchester Counties in NY State, and in Southern Fairfield County, CT, and in the low to mid 50’s in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island, then dropping sharply in the late morning and afternoon from west to east across our area. Some flooding will be likely with rainfall amounts ranging from 1-3 inches in areas that receive mostly rain.

Trace to a coating possible:  Mercer and Middlesex Counties in NJ, Richmond, Kings, Queens, Nassau, Suffolk Counties in NY

Coating to an inch or two possible:  Southern Hunterdon, Southern Somerset, Union, Hudson Counties in NJ, New York and Bronx Counties in NY

1-3 inches possible:  Northern Hunterdon, Northern Somerset, Southern Morris, Essex, and Southeastern Bergen Counties in NJ, Southern Westchester County in NY, and Southern Fairfield County, CT

2-4 inches possible:  Southern Lehigh and Southern Northampton Counties in PA, Southern Warren, Southeastern Passaic Counties in NJ, Southeastern Rockland County in NY

3-5 inches possible:  Northern Lehigh and Northern Northampton Counties in PA, Northern Warren, Southern Sussex, Northern Morris, Northwestern Passaic, and Northwestern Bergen Counties in NJ, Northwestern Rockland, Northern Westchester, and Putnam Counties in NY, and Northern Fairfield County, CT

5-7 inches possible:  Carbon and Southern Monroe Counties in PA, Northern Sussex County, NJ and Eastern Orange County in NY

6-8 inches possible:  Southern Luzerne, Northern Monroe, and Pike Counties in PA, and Western Orange County, NY

8-14 inches possible:  Northern Luzerne, Lackawanna, and Wayne Counties in PA

10-20 inches possible:  Wyoming and Susquehanna Counties in PA

Total possible ice accumulation:

Trace to a tenth of an inch possible:  East Central PA, Central and Northeastern NJ, NYC, Long Island

Tenth to a half of an inch possible:  Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT

MONDAY – variably cloudy, chance of a snow squall, snow shower, or flurry, it will also be windy with gusts of 30-50 mph possible inland, lows from the mid to upper single digits below zero in Northeastern PA, to the mid-single digits above zero in East Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island, highs in the single digits to mid teens

TUESDAY – mostly sunny, lows from the low single digits below zero in parts of Northeastern PA, Southeastern NY, and Northern Fairfield County, CT, to the low teens in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island, highs in the 20’s to low 30’s

WEDNESDAY – increasing cloudiness in the morning, rain developing in the late morning and afternoon, lows in the upper teens to mid 20’s, highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s

THURSDAY – rain likely, lows in the mid 30’s to low 40’s, highs in the 40’s

FRIDAY – variably cloudy, chance of a flurry, lows in the 20’s to low 30’s, highs in the upper 20’s and 30’s

NEXT SATURDAY – variably cloudy, lows in the mid-single digits to mid-teens, highs in the mid-teens to mid-20’s

NEXT SUNDAY – variably cloudy, lows in the low single digits below zero to the low teens above zero, highs in the mid-teens to mid-20’s

NEXT MONDAY – increasing cloudiness, chance of rain or snow developing at night, lows in the single digits to mid-teens, highs in the 20’s to low 30’s
