Wednesday, January 9, 2019 - Evening Weather Discussion

Chances for Accumulating Snow this Weekend Increasing for the NYC and Allentown, PA Metro areas…

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a snow shower or flurry, especially in the morning. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.

Friday will be mostly sunny, but cold, with highs in the 20’s to low 30’s.

This weekend a storm system is going to pass to our south. This will bring a swath of snow from Missouri eastward through Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Southeastern NY State, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Southeastern Massachusetts. The heaviest snow should fall from Missouri, eastward through Southern Indiana, Northern Kentucky, Southern Ohio, West Virginia, Northern Virginia, Southwestern Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, with lesser amounts likely into Southern NJ. This would leave the Allentown, Pennsylvania and New York City Metropolitan areas in an area with lighter snowfall amounts, on the northern fringe of the storm, if this current track holds.

Saturday, clouds will increase, with a chance of snow developing at night as a storm system approaches from the west. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Sunday, there will be a chance of snow ending in the morning and early afternoon as the storm system pulls away from our area. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Monday is then looking nice with highs in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Tuesday and next Wednesday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow flurry. Highs will be in the 30’s.

Next Thursday there will be a chance of rain or snow showers as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the 30’s.

Next Friday is then looking variably cloudy with highs in the low to mid 30’s.

Next Saturday through Monday are then looking unsettled with a chance of snow as a storm system passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Next Tuesday is looking nice with highs in the 30’s.

Have a wonderful evening!
