Sunday, a strong storm system will develop in the Tennessee River Valley. This storm will then turn northeastward, causing rain and snow to develop in our area late Sunday afternoon and Sunday night. The precipitation will likely become heavy at times at night, ending early Monday morning. The precipitation should fall as all snow in Northeastern PA, Northern Sussex County, NJ, and Orange County, NY, where accumulations will likely be heavy. The precipitation may fall as a mixture of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain in East Central PA, the rest of Northern NJ, the rest of Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, with likely mostly rain in Southeastern PA, Central and especially Southern NJ, NYC, and on Long Island. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s and will then drop rapidly after the precipitation starts, to the low to mid 30’s in areas that will be receiving snow. Any small change in the track of the storm will make a huge difference in who receives snow and rain as the temperature difference on either side of the track of the center of low pressure will be 10-15 degrees within about 15 miles, with temperatures in the low to mid 30’s northwest of the track and in the mid to upper 40’s just southwest of the track.
Monday will then be nice with highs ranging from the mid 20’s to low 30’s in Northeastern PA to the low to mid 40’s in Central NJ and on Long Island.
Tuesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower or flurry. Highs will be in the mid teens to mid 20’s.
Wednesday and next Thursday, March 7th, will then be nice with highs in the upper teens to mid 20’s Wednesday and the mid 20’s to low 30’s next Thursday.
Next Friday, March 8th, there will be a chance of snow showers as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 20’s and 30’s.
Next Saturday, March 9th, will be nice with highs in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.
Next Sunday, March 10th, there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the 30’s.
Next Monday, March 11th, there will be a chance of rain or snow ending in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.
Next Tuesday, March 12th, and next Wednesday, March 13th, will be nice with highs in the low to mid 40’s next Tuesday and the mid 40’s to low 50’s next Wednesday.
Have a wonderful evening!
