And below is a beautiful picture of the snow today in Interlaken, Monmouth County, NJ, submitted by my mom, Doreen Fullmer. Thanks for sharing mom!
The snow will gradually change to sleet, freezing rain, and rain throughout our area late this afternoon and evening with total snowfall accumulations generally in the 2-4 inch range, with some areas slightly lower and some areas possibly slightly higher. There will then be a light accumulation of ice in Southeastern PA (excluding possibly Philadelphia and the immediate suburbs), and in West Central NJ, with a significant accumulation of ice likely in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State (excluding possibly southeastern Rockland and Southern Westchester Counties), and Fairfield County, CT (excluding possibly coastal sections).
The rain and freezing rain will end very early in the morning, followed by clearing. It will be warm tomorrow afternoon, with highs ranging from the mid to upper 40’s in East Central and Northeastern PA to the mid 50’s in Central NJ.
Friday will then be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.
Saturday, clouds will increase in the morning, with rain developing in the afternoon, possibly starting briefly as snow in parts of Eastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT, as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.
Sunday the rain will end in the morning, followed by clearing, and it will be windy, with gusts of up to 50 mph possible. Highs will be in the 50’s to low 60’s.
Monday will then be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.
Tuesday is then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower as a disturbance passes to our north. Highs will be in the 30’s.
Next Wednesday, February 27th, continues to look variably cloudy with a chance of snow showers as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to low 30’s.
Next Thursday, February 28th, is then looking nice with highs in the 30’s.
Next Friday, March 1st, a disturbance may approach from the Southeastern United States at the same time that the Polar Vortex drops down from Canada into the Central United States. This would bring us a chance of snow developing with highs in the 30’s.
Next Saturday, March 2nd, there will be a chance of snow ending in the morning, followed by clearing as the disturbance departs our area. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.
Next Sunday, March 3rd will then be nice with highs in the mid 20’s to low 30’s.
Next Monday, March 4th clouds will increase with a chance of snow developing in the afternoon or evening as a disturbance may approach from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the 30’s.
Next Tuesday, March 5th, there will be a chance of snow ending in the morning, followed by clearing, as the disturbance departs our area. Highs will be in the 30’s.
Have a wonderful evening!
