A record-breaking heat wave will continue in the Southeastern United States, with highs reaching 100 degrees in parts of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia, and breaking 90 degrees in Maryland and Delaware. All-time record highs for the month of May are being broken in many locations. This is a heat wave unlike any that has ever before been seen in many parts of these areas since records have been kept in the 1800’s.
Luckily, we are situated just north of the stationary boundary that has been in place in our area all spring. This is keeping us cooler, but also quite wet, with chances for showers or thunderstorms nearly every day.
We will have a beautiful Memorial Day today with highs in the 70’s.
Tomorrow rain will be developing in the morning, with showers likely in the afternoon, and a chance of a shower in the evening, as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 50’s to low 60’s in Southeastern NY State, in Fairfield County, CT, and on Eastern Long Island, in the low to mid 60’s on Western Long Island, in the 60’s in Northeastern PA and Northern NJ, in the mid to upper 60’s in NYC, in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s in East Central PA and East Central NJ, and in the mid 70’s in West Central NJ.
Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the morning, then showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon, and a chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the evening, as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.
Thursday will be variably cloudy with a chance of showers or thunderstorms at night as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 70’s and 80’s.
Friday will be nice with highs in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s.
Saturday through the following Sunday, June 9th, are looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as the stationary front should remain near our area. Highs will range mainly from the mid 60’s to the mid 70’s.
Have a fantastic day!
