Saturday, May 25, 2019 - Evening Weather Discussion


A massive heat wave in the entire Southeastern United States, and endless chances for showers and thunderstorms in our area…

A massive heavy wave is developing in the Southeastern United States, and will continue for at least a week, with high temperatures exceeding 100 degrees in much of Northern Florida, Southeastern Georgia, South Carolina, and Eastern North Carolina, with the possibility of some places exceeding 105 degrees in these locations, and temperatures exceeding 90 degrees in many locations as far north as Maryland and Delaware. Luckily, the stationary front that has been keeping us wet much of this spring will keep most of the hot air just south of our area, but parts of our area may have some very heavy rain and flooding.

It will continue to be variably cloudy tonight with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm this evening and showers and possibly a thunderstorm will be likely tonight, as a disturbance passes through our area.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm in Northeastern PA. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s in Northeastern PA and on Eastern Long Island, in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s on Central Long Island and in Fairfield County, CT, in the low to mid 80’s East Central PA, Coastal and Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, in NYC, and on Western Long Island, and in the mid to upper 80’s in inland Central NJ.

Memorial Day will then be nice with highs in the 70’s, but with some low 80’s possible in Central NJ.

Tuesday, rain will be likely, possibly heavy at times early in the day, and with some clearing likely at night, as a strong disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the low to mid 60’s in Southeastern NY State, on Long Island, and in Fairfield County, CT, the mid 60’s to low 70’s in Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, and in NYC, in the mid 70’s in East Central PA and East Central NJ, and in the mid to upper 70’s in West Central NJ.

Wednesday there will be another chance for showers and possibly a thunderstorm, especially in the afternoon, as another disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the low to mid 60’s on Long Island, in the mid to upper 60’s in Fairfield County, CT, and in NYC, the upper 60’s to low 70’s along the NJ Coast, in Southeastern NY State, the upper 60’s to mid 70’s in Northeastern PA, the low to mid 70’s in Northern NJ, and the mid to upper 70’s in East Central PA and in inland Central NJ.

Thursday there will again be a chance for showers and thunderstorms as another disturbance and cold front pass through our area. Highs will be in the low to mid 70’s on Long Island and in Northeastern PA, the mid to upper 70’s in NYC, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, the upper 70’s to low 80’s along the NJ Coast and in Northern NJ, the low 80’s in East Central PA, and the mid 80’s in inland Central NJ.

Friday is then looking nice with highs in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.

Next Saturday, June 1st, is then looking variably cloudy with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm in Northeastern PA. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.

Next Sunday, June 2nd, is then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s.

Next Monday, June 3rd, there will be a chance of showers or thunderstorms, as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 60’s and 70’s.

Next Tuesday, June 4th, through next Friday, June 7th, continue to look variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as the stationary front looks to remain situated near our area, with disturbances riding along it. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to low 70’s.
