An absolutely unbelievable heat wave will be occurring through at least Friday in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia, with very warm temperatures in Maryland and Delaware as well. High temperatures will break 100 degrees in a large part of these areas from Northern Florida through Southern Virginia, with 90’s up through Maryland and Delaware. Some areas could reach 105 degrees.
In our area though, it will be a different story, as the stationary front that has been plaguing our area all spring, will continue to do so, allowing one disturbance after the other to pass through our area. This will keep us cooler, but wet, with rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches likely this week throughout our area.
Today will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower this morning and a shower or thunderstorm this afternoon and evening, especially in Eastern PA, as a weak disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to low 80’s in Northeastern PA, along the NJ Coast, and on Eastern Long Island, the low to mid 80’s in East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, on Central Long Island, and in Fairfield County, CT, the mid 80’s in Northeastern NJ, NYC, and on Western Long Island, and in the mid to upper 80’s in inland Central NJ.
Memorial Day there will be a chance of showers in the morning, and possibly a thunderstorm, followed by clearing, as the disturbance departs our area. Highs will be in the 70’s.
Tuesday rain will develop in the morning, becoming heavy at times in some locations. There could also be some thunderstorms, and then there will be a chance of a shower or thunderstorm at night, as a strong disturbance passes through our area. Total rainfall amounts of a half of an inch to an inch and a half are possibly through our area. It will also be windy, with gusts of 20-40 mph possible. Highs will be in the low to mid 60’s on Eastern Long Island and in Fairfield County CT, the mid to upper 60’s on Central Long Island and in Southeastern NY State, the upper 60’s to mid 70’s in NYC and in far Northern NJ, the mid to upper 70’s in Coastal NJ, the upper 60’s and 70’s in Northeastern PA, the upper 70’s to low 80’s in the rest of Northern NJ and in East Central NJ, and the low to mid 80’s in East Central PA and West Central NJ.
Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm, as a disturbance passes to our north. Highs will be in the low to mid 70’s in Northeastern PA, Coastal NJ, on Eastern Long Island, and in Fairfield County, CT, the mid to upper 70’s in Southeastern NY State, the upper 70’s to low 80’s in East Central PA, East Central and Northern NJ and NYC, and the low to mid 80’s in West Central NJ.
Thursday will be variably cloudy with a chance of shower or thunderstorms, especially at night, as another disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mdi 70’s to mid 80’s.
Friday, there will be a chance of showers in the morning, followed by clearing, as the disturbance departs our area. Highs will be in the 70’s.
Saturday through next Saturday, June 8th, are looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as the stationary front continues to be situated near our area, with one disturbance after the other following along it. Highs will be in the 70’s Saturday, the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Sunday, June 2nd, the mid 60’s to mid 70’s next Monday through Wednesday, June 5th, the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Thursday, June 6th and next Friday, June 7th, and the upper 60’s and 70’s next Saturday, June 8th.
