Thursday, October 31, 2019 - Evening Weather Discussion

Severe thunderstorms possible tonight with very strong wind, heavy rain, and possibly even isolated tornadoes…

A strong cold front is approaching our area with very warm air ahead of the front for this time of year, and very cold air behind the front. This will bring us a chance for severe weather tonight. There will be a chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm tonight as a strong cold front passes through our area. Some of the thunderstorms could be severe with heavy rain, very strong winds, and possibly even isolated tornadoes. Total rainfall amounts tonight will range from .75-1.5 inches in Eastern PA, West Central and Northern NJ, NYC, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, with lighter amounts likely in East Central NJ and on Long Island. Winds will gust up to 60 mph in some locations tonight, except for up to 75 mph on Long Island.

Things will clear out tomorrow morning from west to east across our area. It will be much colder tomorrow with highs in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Saturday through Monday will then be nice with highs in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s Saturday, the 40’s to low 50’s Sunday, and the mid 40’s to mid 50’s Monday.

Tuesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower as a weak disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to low 60’s.

Wednesday will be nice with highs in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s.

Next Thursday, November 7th, through next Saturday, November 9th, are looking variably cloudy with highs in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s next Thursday and the mid 30’s to mid 40’s next Friday and Saturday.

Next Sunday, November 10th, is then looking nice with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Monday, November 11th, and next Tuesday, November 12th, are then looking variably cloudy with a chance of rain or snow showers. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Next Wednesday, November 13th, there will be a chance of rain, possibly mixed with snow in some locations, as a storm may form along the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.
