Tuesday, October 29, 2019 - Evening Weather Discussion

HEAVY RAIN AND STRONG WIND LIKELY HALLOWEEN DAY AND NIGHT and then the first chance this season for rain or snow appears…

The chance for light rain or drizzle will continue through tomorrow as a weak disturbance and onshore wind develop in our area. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid 60’s.

Halloween Day, unfortunately, it will be rainy and very windy, with rain, possibly heavy at times, as a strong disturbance and cold front approach from the west. This morning it had appeared as if the heavy rain would be only in East Central and Northeastern PA and Northwestern NJ, but it is now looking as if it may be more widespread throughout all of Central and Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, NYC, and Fairfield County, CT, as well. There will likely be flooding in some locations with .75-2.5 inches of rain throughout our area. It will also be windy, with gusts up to 50 mph possible during the day, and possibly as high as 70 mph at night. It will be warm, with highs in the mid 60’s to low 70’s.

Friday, the rain will end in the morning from west to east across our area as the cold front clears us out. It will however be windy, with gusts of up to 45 mph possible in the morning. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Saturday will be sunny, with highs in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a snow flurry, snow shower, or snow squall in the morning in far Northern Northeast PA, as some Lake Effect moisture may reach that area. Highs will be in the 40’s to low 50’s.

Monday will then be nice with highs in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Next Tuesday, November 5th, clouds will increase with a chance of rain developing at night as a disturbance approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.

Next Wednesday, November 6th, there will be a chance of rain ending in the morning, followed by clearing as the disturbance departs our area. Highs will be in the 50’s to low 60’s.

Next Thursday, November 7th, through next Sunday, November 10th, are then looking nice with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Thursday and Friday, the 40’s next Saturday, and the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Sunday.

Next Monday, November 11th, there will be a chance of rain or snow in the morning, followed by clearing, as a disturbance may develop near the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the 40’s.

Have a wonderful evening!
