Tuesday, October 29, 2019 - Morning Weather Discussion

HEAVY RAIN AND STRONG WIND DEVELOPING HALLOWEEN AFTERNOON AND NIGHT, and then snow flurries possible in parts of our area Sunday…

Today and tomorrow will be cloudy with a chance of some light rain or drizzle as an onshore wind and a weak disturbance develop near our area ahead of a strong approaching cold front. Highs today will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s and in the 60’s tomorrow.

Halloween, rain will be likely, becoming heavy at times in the afternoon and evening in East Central and Northeastern PA, and Northwestern NJ, and everywhere at night, as a strong cold front and disturbance approach from the west. Some flooding will be possible, and it will be windy, with gusts of up to 55 possible in some locations. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to low 70’s.

Friday, rain will be heavy at times early in the morning, with clearing in the morning from west to east as the cold front passes through. Some flooding will be likely, with total rainfall amounts of .75-2.5 inches possible throughout our area. It will be windy, with gusts of up to 55 mph possible in the morning and up to 65 mph possible on Long Island in the morning. Highs will range from the mid to upper 40’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 50’s in East Central and Northeastern NJ, NYC, and on Long Island.

Saturday will then be nice with highs in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s.

Sunday is then looking variably cloudy with a  chance of a snow shower or flurry in Northeastern PA as some Lake Effect moisture could reach that area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Monday will then be nice with highs in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Next Tuesday, November 5th, clouds will increase with a chance of showers developing at night as a disturbance approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to low 60’s.

Next Wednesday, November 6th, there will be a chance of a shower in the morning, followed by clearing as the disturbance departs our area. Highs will be in the 50’s to low 60’s.

Next Thursday, November 7th, through next Saturday, November 9th, are then looking nice with highs in the 40’s next Thursday, the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Friday, and the 40’s next Saturday.

Next Sunday, November 10th, is looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the 40’s to low 50’s.

Next Monday, November 11th, is then looking variably cloudy with highs in the 40’s.
