Wednesday, October 30, 2019 - Morning Weather Discussion

HEAVY FLOODING RAIN AND STRONG WIND LIKELY IN PARTS OF OUR AREA FOR HALLOWEEN, and then colder air and even some snowflakes possible…

Today will again be cloudy with periods of light rain or drizzle possible. Highs will be in the 60’s.

Halloween Day, unfortunately, there will be rain, possibly heavy at times, especially in Eastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, NYC, and Fairfield County, CT, as a strong disturbance and cold front approach from the west. A thunderstorm is also possible, especially at night, with total rainfall accumulations of .5-2.5 inches throughout our area, with the heaviest amounts most likely in the previously mentioned locations, with some flooding likely. It will also be windy in the afternoon and especially at night, with gusts up to 65 mph possible in some locations, and possibly as high as 75 mph on parts of Long Island. At least it will be warm for Halloween, with highs in the mid 60’s to low 70’s.

Friday there will be rain, heavy at times early in the morning, with a thunderstorm also possible. It will be windy, with gusts up to 65 mph possible very early in the morning, and possibly as high as 75 mph on parts of Long Island. Some flooding is possible. Things will then clear from west to east later in the morning as the cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Saturday will then be nice with highs in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow flurry in some locations in the morning as a bit of Lake Effect moisture could reach parts of our area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Monday will be nice, but it will start out cold in the morning with lows in the upper 20’s and 30’s, rising to the mid 40’s to mid 50’s in the afternoon.

Tuesday clouds will increase with a chance of showers developing as a weak disturbance could develop near the Middle Atlantic Coast as an onshore flow develops ahead of an approaching cold front. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.

Next Wednesday, November 6th, there will be a chance of a shower in the morning, followed by clearing, as the cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Next Thursday, November 7th, through next Saturday, November 9th, are then looking nice, but cold, with highs only in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Sunday, November 10th, through next Tuesday, November 12th, are then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower next Sunday and Monday, and a chance of rain or snow showers next Tuesday, as a disturbance may develop near the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Sunday, the 40’s next Monday, and the mid 40’s to low 50’s next Tuesday.

Have a fantastic day!
