Friday, November 22, 2019 - Evening Weather Discussion

Nor’easter likely to bring many of us some heavy rain early Sunday…

The light rain will end this evening in eastern sections.

Tomorrow will start out nice and then clouds will increase in the afternoon with rain developing at night as a disturbance approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the low to mid 40’s.

Sunday the disturbance will develop rapidly as it reaches a point about 50-100 miles off the NJ Coast, turning into a Nor’easter and causing rain throughout most of the day on Sunday, ending at night. The rain could be heavy at times, especially in the morning. Winds could gust 20-40 mph inland and up to 50 mph near the coast. There could be some flooding with rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches likely throughout much of our area. Highs will be in the 40’s, but with some low to mid 50’s on Long Island in the morning.

Monday and Tuesday will then be nice with highs in the mid 40’s to low 50’s Monday and the 50’s Tuesday.

Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower in the morning as a disturbance passes well to our north. Highs will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s.

Thanksgiving Day through next Saturday, November 30th, are then looking nice with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s Thanksgiving Day, the 30’s to low 40’s Black Friday, and in the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Saturday.

Next Sunday, December 1st will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower in the afternoon or evening as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Monday, December 2nd, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower in the morning, followed by clearing as the disturbance and a cold front pass through our area. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Tuesday, December 3rd, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Wednesday, December 4th and next Thursday, December 5th, will then be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Have a wonderful evening!
