Friday, November 22, 2019 - Morning Weather Discussion

Strong Nor’easter to bring heavy rain to much of our area Sunday…

Today will be cloudy with light rain developing in the late morning and early afternoon from west to east, ending in the evening from west to east, as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s in the morning, dropping in the afternoon.

Tomorrow, clouds will increase in the afternoon, with rain developing at night as a disturbance approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the low to mid 40’s.

Sunday there will be rain, possibly heavy at times, especially in the afternoon in East Central NJ, as the disturbance intensifies rapidly off the NJ Coast, turning into a strong Nor’easter. It will become windy, with gusts of 20-40 mph possible inland, and up to 50 mph possible near the coast. Some flooding will be possible, with total rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches possible, especially in East Central NJ. The rain will end at night, possibly mixing with or changing to snow before ending in parts of Northeastern PA. Highs will range from the mid 30’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 40’s along the NJ Coast and on Western Long Island, and the upper 40’s to mid 50’s on Eastern Long Island.

Monday and Tuesday will then be mostly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 40’s Monday and the low to mid 50’s Tuesday.

Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of showers as a disturbance passes to our north. Highs will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s.

Thanksgiving through next weekend are then looking nice with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s Thanksgiving, the mid 30’s to low 40’s Black Friday, the mid 30’s to mid 40’s next Saturday, and in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Sunday.

Next Monday, December 2nd, is then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Tuesday, December 3rd, through next Thursday, December 5th, are then looking variably cloudy with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s next Tuesday and in the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Wednesday and Thursday.
